Baldwyn Rodriguez English Jr.

Baldwyn is an External Affairs Manager with Florida Power & Light in Miami-Dade County. In this role, he is responsible for establishing and maintaining constructive relationships with local government, businesses, and civic leaders.

Baldwyn became familiar with the utility sector as the Chief Advisor to Commissioner Ronald Brisé at the Florida Public Service Commission. At the Commission, he was tasked with utilizing his business and legal background for the benefit of Florida utility ratepayers. Specifically, Baldwyn was responsible for synthesizing information from utilities and stakeholders, communicating with Florida utility representatives and Florida residents, identifying potentially contentious issues, interfacing with the press, and remaining current on regulated industries in an effort to effectively advise Commissioner Brisé.

During his tenure at the Commission, he helped to develop the Supplier Diversity Toolkit which provides aggregated data on supplier diversity spending among regulated utilities. He also helped to manage the development of resolutions and recommendations to the Federal Communications Commission through his work on the Telecommunications Act Modernization Task Force.

Prior to entering the public sector, Baldwyn worked as an attorney at a leading law firm in Houston, Texas. His practice focused on complex business litigation, toxic tort litigation and related oil and gas matters. While in Texas, Baldwyn was successful in both a prosecutorial role as well as defending his clients’ interests and aggressively pursuing judgment recovery. Further, he was able to co-author the legal article, “I’m All Verklempt!” that was presented at the Conference on State and Federal Appeals at The University of Texas School of Law.

Baldwyn earned his law degree from Texas Southern University where he graduated cum laude and was a member of law review, Chief Justice of the Board of Advocates and Chief Justice of the Honor Court. His undergraduate business degree was earned at Florida International University.

When not at work, Baldwyn continues in his leadership responsibilities as a mentor to local youth organizing activities such as camping trips, sports leagues and a robotics club.

Baldwyn is married to Shirley Croissy, ARNP and they have two children, Trey and Morgan.

Fernanda Katz- Junkins

Fernanda Katz- Junkins was born in 1955 in Santiago, Chile and emigrated to United States in 1970 due to her father’s job. This is mentioned as an important part of her life’s development of her future, that taught her the valuable lesson of how to deal with different types of people and cultures, something invaluable in her present position as Business Development at Ecolectric Company, Electrical Contractors. She has extensive experience in public relations and marketing thanks to what she calls” her previous life” working for 25 years and retired from Saks Fifth Avenue specialty stores in Marketing/Public Relations department.

7 years ago, her husband, a partner and her, founded this company that has flourished with much success in the electrical field due to their expertise in this arena. Most important to her and under her jurisdiction, is the superb customer service that is offered to the long list of respectable clients acquired under her leadership since the inception of Ecolectric. To name a few, Mercedes Benz of Cutler Bay/ Coral Gables and The Fresh Market. They service the Tri- county area and including now, The Keys, Naples, Fort Mayers and in the near future Orlando/ Tampa area.

Fernanda is a strong believer in establishing face to face relationships with her clients and associates, to her, nothing is better than the human touch when introduction of her company to potential clients is in order, and this philosophy has never failed her. She is proud to say her employees are trained by her on this, and they are happy to comply and share the success of Ecolectric Company.

Fernanda is a frequent speaker at High Schools, Colleges and Institutions on leadership and how to run a business. This is done as a contribution to the communities she serves and for the betterment of our young minds, many of them wanting to be entrepreneurs in the future. During her lectures many topics are discussed always including her motto of “YOU DO NOT HAVE TO KNOW EVERYTHING BUT SURROUND YOURSELF WITH PEOPLE THAT DO”. She lives in East Kendall with her husband Cliff, proud parents of Eric and Victoria, an Urban Planner and an Attorney respectively.

Heather Moehling

Heather Moehling, originally from Kentucky, received a BS degree from University of the Cumberlands and moved to South Florida. Shortly after moving, Heather began working at Robert Is Here and has made her mark there for the past 13 years.

During Heather’s tenure at Robert Is Here, she has assisted in advancing the company in many ways by bringing it into the 21st Century. Heather has single-handedly created the entire Human Resources Department. In this great advance for Robert Is Here she was able to completely automate all employee processes from online payroll, scheduling and onboarding to providing access to our staff via online portal. Heather has taken over auditing and updating all insurances ranging from Workman’s Comp, Health Care to General Liability. In years past, Robert Is Here had no online presence, Heather has assisted in developing a large online fan base and booming shipping operation, as well as a very active social media presence. Heather has been involved in many events marketing Robert Is Here ranging from the Miami Book Fair, IFAS-UF events, projects with O’Miami Poetry, the GMCVB and even career days and health fairs at local schools.

Heather is a current board member for the Florida Agritourism Association located in Tallahassee. She is an active member of the South Dade Chamber of Commerce and holds a position on the interim Steering Committee for the Young Professionals group of the South Dade Chamber of Commerce. Heather is also a current board member of TEVA (Tropical Everglades Visitor Association) and has assisted the President Robert Moehling with his duties on the board along with fundraising efforts, as well as being a great asset to the Redland Tropical Trail sub-committee.

Michael Messer

President and CEO of The Arc of South Florida for Thirty-five years.  In this position I was overall director of a Not-For-Private organization serving approximately 800 plus Children and adults with disabilities and their families.

Prior to this position I held a variety of positions with Miami-Dade County for approximately 15 years and prior this this I was in U.S. Navy.

Currently I am retired from the CEO position and I remain on the Board of Directors of The Arc.

Education: I am a graduate of both the University of Miami and Barry University.

I have been a member of the Chamber for many years via the Arc of South Florida and we currently have several program’s in the City of Homestead and Florida City.  I have been a member of Rotary for 30 plus years. and have held several positions, including the President of the Key Biscayne Club and Assistant Governor for District 6990.

Stephanie Go Jacobowitz

I am currently working with Power Financial Credit Union as AVP Branch Manager III and Business Developer in the Florida City branch. I have over 12 years of banking experience. I have experience in the Commercial aspect of banking along with the consumer/residential side.

I have been an active member of the South Dade Chamber of Commerce for the past two years. I am currently a participating member on the Board of Directors. During the last two years I have been active on the Young Professionals Committee and on the Events Committee for the BoD. I have participated in Back to School Drives and Holiday Toy Drives for the Young Professionals Committee. I was a part of the Events Committee Summer Lychee Celebration 2019 and helped co-run the Free Kids Zone. I also started to work with Kerry Black in putting together a Leads Group Program for the Chamber.

I also participate in BNI for the past four years. I am also part of the Membership Committee in my Chapter and have been for the past three years.

I put time into community involvement and volunteer work, and plan to continue to do so.

Kenneth Wright

Goal driven outside the box thinking has allowed Kenneth Wright to lead a variety of businesses and professionals to career and financial success during his career. While he lived in New York, NY, he helped develop and build successful brands including Miller Genuine Draft, Coffee-Mate Liquid and Acuvue Disposable Contact Lenses. He has built multimillion-dollar practices for a variety of medical and wellness professionals.

A health and wellness pioneer, Kenneth founded Onsite Wellness in 1990 and helped corporations cut healthcare costs and build employee productivity by the development and implementation of wellness strategies and practices.

After selling his business, he joined Teach for America (TFA) and was sent to Miami by Teach for America. TFA is a non-profit that trains non-teachers and then assigns them to teach for two years in low-income schools. Upon completion of his TFA commitment, Kenneth returned to health and wellness by joining USHEALTH Advisors where he is bringing his innovative approach to health and wellness to the self-employed and small businesses.

His holistic approach to business development and problem solving is informed by his cross-traditional education in the sciences (B.S Medical Technology), business (MBA- Finance/Marketing) and humanities (MA – Religion).

He loves being the Father of 3 ½ year-old twins and is a strong advocate for animal rescue. His hobbies include storytelling, cycling and yoga.

He is excited to bring his passion, creativity and work ethic to the Board of Directors of the South Dade Chamber of Commerce.

Lynne Arguelles

Lynne Arguelles has over twenty years of educational leadership and student development experience and over sixteen years of managerial and supervisory experience with roles in technology, operations and accounting. She is currently the Department Chairperson for Business, Engineering and Technology at Miami Dade College’s Homestead Campus. Prior to joining the College, Ms. Arguelles was an educator and technology manager for schools in the Archdiocese of Miami where she was nominated for Catholic Educator of the Year four times.

She began her career with PriceWaterhouse Coopers and also spent many years working in her family’s textile business in operations. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management and Management Information Systems from Valdosta State University and an MBA from Nova Southeastern University. In her leisure time, she enjoys adventure and travel.

My name is Mary Lou Montanez, I’m on the Board of Directors. I’m also the Local Store Marketer for Texas Roadhouse. I love the opportunity my job gives me to get involved with our community and help as much as I can. It gives me great pleasure to know how much we can do for our community when we all come together. I’m also a full time wife and mother of 3.

Dave Cuddihy

Dave Cuddihy is the General Manager of the South Dade News Leader, where he is primarily responsible for advertising, marketing and distribution. He has extensive experience in the media space, with a 15-year career spanning some of the largest publishing companies including GateHouse, Hearst and EW Scripps. Since joining the News Leader, one of the first priorities was a redesign of the #1 local news website in South Dade Co., southdadenewsleader.com; since the relaunch the site is seeing growth of more than 80% above already excellent traffic.

Dave describes his biggest hobby away from work as anything family oriented. He is happily married to his wife of nearly 16 years, Kayla; and they are parents of amazing son Riley, age 7. Dave’s favorite pastime has been coaching his son’s soccer team for the last 4 years, which he hopes to continue in Homestead’s AYSO league. Additionally, with Riley very active in Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu; free time at the beach and pool, and the regular family game night; that is how he loves to spend his time.

Lucia Soria

Lucia Soria is a former Miami-Dade County Public School teacher with 14 years’ experience at the elementary school level. She has been a certified Personal Trainer since 2006, promoting awareness of the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and advocate of engaging children from a young age in physical fitness activities as well as educating seniors for better quality of life.

Lucia is the owner and President of Ram-Tech Construction, a general contracting firm that has been servicing South Florida since 1998. Ram-Tech specializes in site development and can provides services that include demolition, grading, paving, drainage, water, sewer, signage and marking, landscape and irrigation.

Ram-Tech’s strength lies in its diversified and interdisciplinary team that offers integrated and innovative solutions. We have the experience and comprehensive knowledge of our scope of work from our field operations to our managing service, and our overall expertise in site construction. Ram-Tech’s approach is in establishing partnerships and delivering personalized customer service from the start through the completion of every project.

Lucia, has been an active member of the National Association of Women in Construction, Miami Chapter 41 since 2010 and has served in a variety of leadership roles to include President and Vice President. She sits on the Women’s Committee of County Farm Bureau, supports PACE Center for Girls through her participation in the Development Committee, and Chairs the Advisory Committee of the Tramcon Program at Miami Dade College. Recently, she has taken an active role with the Industry Advisory Council for the Moss School of Construction, Infrastructure and Sustainability and has served as a guest speaker in promoting the construction industry as a viable career path for all.

Lucia’s most important role is that of wife to Ramon, her husband of 36 years, mother to her two most amazing children, Carolina and Ramon Andres and grandmother to Dominic.

Eddie Garza

Edward C. Garza, the son of migrant farmworkers, was born in Homestead, FL. From an early age, Edward has been a tireless advocate for youth and issues facing the South Dade community. After graduating from Miami Dade College, Edward founded Digital Social Media Solutions, a Digital marketing and development firm now under the direction of his brother, Alex Garza. Edward has served as Executive Director of the Mexican American Council since 2016. As Executive Director, Edward has lead to the expansion of MAC programming and staff. He continues the mission to change the lives of South Dade youth through a focus on the family, access to the arts, and a quality education.
