Born of fire, tested by ice, confirmed by legions of loyal guests each day, LongHorn Steakhouse® has grown to become the undisputed home for great steak done right. Founded in 1981 in Atlanta, Georgia, the restaurant began with one man’s passion for perfect steak but had very few guests to convince. Then a freak snowstorm hit Atlanta in 1982, stranding motorists and drawing them to one of the only hospitable places available – a restaurant then called LongHorn Steaks Restaurant & Saloon. Tales of expertly grilled steaks soon spread like wildfire, and the legend of LongHorn was born.
By 1990, the restaurant had spread throughout the East, Midwest and Southwest United States and Puerto Rico. In 2007, the restaurant, now called LongHorn Steakhouse, was purchased by Darden Restaurants, Inc.
We strive to be the best steakhouse in everything we do. One visit and you’ll experience our grill master’s Legendary Steaks like our center-cut Flo’s Filet or Prime Rib. Try bold flavors from our Peak Season and Chef’s Showcase menu, or signature entrees like Parmesan Crusted Chicken or LongHorn Salmon. Our lunch menu also features over 30 different combinations, including our LongHorn salads and Steakhouse burgers. And don’t forget to save room for our Molten Lava Cake.
Did we mention we specialize in thirst-quenching Margaritas and specialty drinks? Try one of our popular Strawberry Margaritas or signature Perfect Margaritas.
Make sure to join the LongHorn eClub and get a coupon for a free* appetizer like our Firecracker Chicken Wraps when you come in for your next meal.
Sound too good to be true? Nah. We just try really hard to make sure everything we do is done right, so you’ll keep coming back.
In our effort to create a brand new website to make ourselves more accessible to our customers through today’s technology, we were asked to create this brief summary of our history in the restaurant business. It struck me how the question was posed, “why us? rather than “about us”. In an industry that is ever evolving and becoming quite demanding, we have distinguished ourselves and prospered because we have not let the industry absorb us; rather we have set ourselves apart from the corporate chains and franchises by remaining a true family restaurant where we, the owners, are hands on and present.

’68 State of mind
Here, 1968 isn’t just a year. It’s the principles we were founded on and still live by today. It’s being passionate about BBQ and respecting time-honored traditions. It’s constantly perfecting our craft and bringing that expertise to the table with every meal. It’s putting others first and making sure when people come here, they feel right at home.

IT’S WHAT MAKES US LEGENDARY!
It all began on February 17, 1993, when Kent Taylor opened the first Texas Roadhouse in Clarksville, Indiana. Kent’s goal was to own not just a family restaurant and not just a steak restaurant, but a place where everyone, of all ages, could come and have a great meal and great fun for a great price.
We like to brag about our Hand-Cut Steaks, Fall-Off-The-Bone Ribs, Made-From-Scratch Sides, and Fresh-Baked Bread. Everything we do goes into making our hearty meals stand out. We handcraft almost everything we serve. We provide larger portions so you get more food for your dollar. And if you want an Ice Cold Beer or Legendary Margarita to wash it all down — well, we have those, too.
Our food’s not the only thing that’s Legendary at the Roadhouse — our fun is too! From our line dancers to our jukebox to our friendly servers, you’ll enjoy every second you spend in a Texas Roadhouse.
At Texas Roadhouse our team has an incredible sense of pride in everything we do. Our passion ensures you have a Legendary Experience every time. Because of our passion for our guests and our communities, our team members are involved outside the restaurants in their local communities as a way to give back.
The Texas Roadhouse story is simple. Legendary Food, Legendary Service® —
all with lots of Legendary Fun!
